36.13194 Organizational Cultures - Police Services and the Teaching Profession in Canada.
The field of Public Administration can give a quite normative view of governmental organizations, according to how they are structured and what their specified functions and procedures happen to be. However, the cultures of organizations are perhaps more important than the logical order and the functions that are expected. In this paper, the challenges of organizational cultures within policing and education are compared in order to illustrate several points produced in course materials and theoretical studies. The examination of organizational cultures is helpful towards understanding bureaucratic organizations that work in ways less expected and sometimes not intended. 11 pgs. 8 sources.
